VEHICLE BODY REPAIR AND PAINT
Are you interested in vehicle body repair, spraying cars with the latest designs or restoring classic motors to their former beauty?
An apprenticeship in vehicle body repair and paint could be the answer! Get a nationally recognise qualification whilst developing your skills in the workplace and attend college just one day a week.
Join us in our brand new state-of-the-art motor vehicle facility, developed with Snap-on tools, and cover areas including:
- Removing and fitting nonwelded, non-structural body panels
- Removing, replacing and repairing non-structural body panels
- MIG and spot welding
- Preparing metal and prepainted surfaces
- Preparing and applying fillers and foundation materials to vehicles
- Identifying and rectifying body misalignment (JIG work)
- Preparing metal and prepainted surfaces
- Colour matching – metallic and pearls
- Blending/local repairs.
Amber Rogers | Pathology Apprentice | Singleton Hospital, Abertawe Bro Morgannwg (ABMU)
Amber, 22 from Llanelli began her career in the healthcare sector on the level 3 apprenticeship in Pathology Support with ABMU at Singleton Hospital, Swansea and Pathways Training after deciding there was more to life than working in a local DIY store.
A typical day for Amber can see her prepare samples and work alongside biomedical scientists to label specimens on the dissection bench. It was this hand on working approach and a newly found enthusiasm for the sector that made juggling other demanding commitments outside of work worth it to ensure she continued doing what she enjoyed so much, which at times was demanding.
Amber was one of the first learners in Wales to complete the Pathology Support qualification and is now classed as a healthcare scientist in her own right, securing a permanent position within the ABMU and recent promotion on top. She is an advocate for the use of apprenticeships within ABMU Health Board and also mentors the new apprentices within the pathology department.

I am currently a healthcare scientist and will now go onto my Level 4 with the possibility to become a Biomedical Scientist.’’
