Brecon Beacons College ran its annual Macmillan Coffee morning. Organised by Health and Social Care lecturer Anna Shepherd and her Level 2 student, the morning saw staff and students host their own coffee morning by baking cakes and accepting donations for the cause.
This is Anna’s 14th year of running the coffee morning at the College and she said: “It’s all about raising awareness, cancer affects everyone.”
With the help from the students, the morning raised £130 with Anna adding: “This is a great activity that students can get involved in, with them being able to build their team building as well as confidence.”
One in two of us will face cancer, the money raised at the Coffee Morning will help everyone with cancer to live life as fully as they can. With the first-ever coffee morning held in 1990. From then Macmillan Coffee Mornings have raised over £200 million.
