Students and Staff from our Catering and Hospitality department at Newtown College received resounding praise for the service and cuisine they provided at the Inaugural Mid Wales Tourism Awards held on 17th October 2019 at The Hafren, Newtown College.
The Level 1, 2 & 3 Students catered for over 220 people who represented the tourism industry throughout the region which included businesses and individuals from Powys, Brecon Beacons, Ceredigion & Meirionnydd
They were served a delightful feast which included options for Supreme of Chicken with smoked bacon and tarragon sauce or a Wild Mushroom strudel with brandy and peppercorn sauce.
NPTC Group of Colleges were proud to be sponsoring the Young Person of the Year award which was won by Amy Clark from the Nags Head at Garthmyl. Mark Dacey COE of NPTC Group of Colleges presented the award adding his appreciation of the hard work and training that leads to these opportunities.
NPTC Group of Colleges were delighted to be involved in the evening and recognised the importance of the tourism industry in the area and Wales in general. We are proud to have a long history of delivering education and training in almost every area including travel, tourism and hospitality.
