Newtown College Level 3 Performing Arts student Josh Owen has been successful at the recent Dance Creation competition. Josh brought home first place for his lyrical solo and also won ‘Stand Out Dancer’ Award.
The competition which was held in Welshpool, was for dancers of all styles to present their talents and hard work and included people come from all over Wales. It was held in Theatre Clera in Welshpool.
Josh worked hard on his routine with his choreographer Shelley Ann and also showcased his routine to his fellow learners at Newtown College. Shelley is a professional dancer and choreographer and runs dance classes and workshops locally in Powys. Shelly was also a former student and Newtown College on the performing arts course.
Ruth Calvert said: “It is wonderful to see our students progress, we are proud of Josh and also pleased for Shelley at the same time.”
