As England enforces masks to be worn in many public places, it’s likely that Wales won’t be far behind in making mask-wearing mandatory. Many people have used this opportunity to tap into their creative side and make their own.
Roo (Ruth) Nicholls, from Welshpool, has been making face masks as part of her Final Major Project in her BTEC Foundation Dip. Art & Design Level 3/4. Roo, a student at Newtown College, has been making the masks to give to local key workers who need them the most, as well as selling some online.
The masks have medical-grade filters in the lining. Roo has been busy throughout lockdown whilst making the masks as well as keeping on top of her college work in which she was awarded a Merit for the project.
