Lilliput Day Nursery has picked up two awards in the Neath Port Talbot Early Years Childcare Awards. The nursery won the Welsh Government, Childcare Offer Setting Champion, and the Covid Keyworkers awards. The awards ceremony took place in the Princess Royal Theatre, Port Talbot and the nursery was also nominated for the Super Team and Manager awards.
The team at Lilliput Day Nursery were honoured to be part of the first Neath Port Talbot Early Years Childcare Ceremony and hope the event becomes an annual one. The awards are recognition for the nursery and the staff’s hard work and dedication through challenging and difficult times over the last couple of years.
Andrea Tregoning, Lilliput Day Nursery’s Manager, said: “The recognition we received for all our hard work and dedication was fantastic and we will strive to maintain and further improve the high standards we have achieved this past year. The importance of making sure children have the best start in life is paramount to myself and my staff.
“Working during the COVID-19 pandemic has been very difficult as a team, but we continued to operate so that the children could have some normality and structure during this very daunting and uncertain time. As many parents were working on the front line, these children’s lives had been disrupted beyond belief.
“As Nursery Manager, I am truly overwhelmed by the commitment shown by my team and the passion they have displayed during the past two years. I am so proud of Team Lilliput!”
Lilliput Day Nursery understands the importance of each child’s development and provides a wide and varied range of activities, with an emphasis on having fun and learning through play by fully qualified staff.
By following the Foundation Phase framework, all children are allowed to develop at their own pace with support and guidance from highly qualified and experienced staff. Each area follows a programme that includes personal and social development, language and literacy, mathematics, and physical and creative development.
Lilliput Day Nursery at Neath College is open between 7.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday throughout the year, excluding Bank Holidays and Christmas week. During the school holidays, it also runs a Holiday Club for children aged five to seven years and 11 months.
