Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing – VTCT VRQ (Full-Time)
Course Overview
Welcome to Lee Stafford Education, the first and only one of its kind in Wales! Not just a celebrity endorsement, the training programme has been developed by Lee Stafford himself. You will learn specifically designed ‘recipes’ which are unique to Lee Stafford Education, reflecting some of the most cutting-edge styles seen in salons across the UK.
The VTCT VRQ Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing is a Full-time Further Education course designed for students who are interested in a career as a hairdresser within the hairdressing and applied therapies industry.
This is located in the Hairdressing and Applied Therapies (HAT) department.
Students are encouraged to enter Lee stafford competitions, Inspiring Skills Wales and World Skills competitions that further challenge and improve specialised skills
Interview prior to enrolment. Learners must be aged 18 or over and have achieved the Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing.
This qualification may lead directly into employment in the hairdressing industry a senior stylist, a salon manager or to work as an independent hairdresser.
This qualification will allow learners to continue their studies to NVQ Level 4 Hairdressing and/or other advanced skills courses.
The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills to an advanced level through a variety of techniques in the following units; the creative art of cutting women’s hair, the artistic skill of Colouring, imaginative dexterity of styling and dressing hair, and how to provide effective consultation support for colleagues.
To develop your skills further you will also be given the opportunity to showcase the creative skill of hairdressing design, bridal hairstyling and the technical colour correction unit.
Assessment methods include observation of practical work, written assignments, oral questioning and written end of unit tests. Learners will be required to bring clients to commercial classes for assessments.
Additionally, they will have homework to complete which includes compiling a portfolio of evidence, completing workbooks and practising skills.
Learners will be required to purchase a kit and uniform.
