Service buses may need to be used in some instances if a college dedicated bus doesn’t pass where a student lives. The First Cymru bus passes work on all buses, whether college dedicated or not. Students studying at the Pontardawe campus who will be travelling from the Neath college site on the 256 route and are eligible to receive a bus pass will be provided with South Wales Transport passes. Please note First Cymru bus passes will not be accepted on this route” Students not in receipt of funding can purchase a “pay-as-you-go” style ticket and pay £1.00 per single journey each time they board the bus upon showing their student ID card to the driver. Alternatively South Wales Transport will be offering a heavily discounted term ticket of £80.00 per term for NPTC students that hold a MyTravelPass. This ticket can be bought like a normal bus ticket from the driver on the bus and can be used on any South Wales Transport bus services at any time of day including on weekends, expiring on the last day of the current college term.
