Course Overview
The Yellow Belt course is the entry-level certification in the Lean Six Sigma hierarchy. Yellow Belt delegates are typically team members who work alongside Green Belts and Black Belts in process improvement projects.
Yellow Belt training covers the fundamentals of Lean Six Sigma, including key concepts, methodologies, and problem-solving techniques.
No formal entry requirements
Successful Delegates can progress onto the Six Sigma Green Belt course.
This course covers:
- Understanding the history & concepts of Lean thinking
- The five steps of DMAIC and understanding the logical flow from step to step
- Tools, techniques and concepts used in each step of the DMAIC framework
- Understanding the basic concepts of process improvement, problem-solving, data collection, and analysis.
- Applying techniques in the DMAIC framework to a work based problem
- Evaluating and quantifying potential improvements in the workplace

- Programme attendance
- Completed course booklet
