We Offer

Level 3 which includes the following modules:
  • Foundation stage legal systems
  • Foundation stage tort
  • Foundation stage contract
  • Foundation stage introduction to property and private client
  • Foundation stage professional and legal skills

This qualification takes 18 months to complete.

Level 5, which includes the following modules:
  • Advanced stage dispute resolution
  • Advanced stage criminal law and practice
  • Advanced stage property and conveyancing
  • Advanced stage professional and legal skills
  • Advanced stage family/wills/business & employment – Optional : Learner must select one module in addition to the above modules.

This qualification takes 24 months to complete.

Entry Requirements:
  • Learners must be working in Wales, for at least 16 hours a week for the duration of their apprenticeship.
  • No formal qualifications are required to join the Legal Services apprenticeship.
  • Learners will need to undertake Essential Skills qualifications: Application of Number, Communication and Digital Literacy, unless the learner has achieved qualifications in these subjects at Level 2.

The awarding body for the Legal Services Apprenticeship is CILEX (Chartered Institute for Legal Executives)

You will undertake a CILEX Professional Qualification (CPQ) by enrolling onto either the Level 3 or 5 apprenticeships.

What will the qualification lead to?

Learners who complete the Level 3 CPQ will become a Paralegal/Case Handler/ Legal Assistant and may wish to move onto the Level 5 CPQ. Learners who complete the Level 5 CPQ will become an Advanced Paralegal/Senior Paralegal/Experienced Paralegal.

Assessments

Assessments are completed online, except for the professional and legal skills modules which are assessed by coursework. Learners will complete one assessment per module.

Assessments are offered twice a year, in January and June. If learners need to re-sit an assessment, there will be a charge per each assessment.
