Level 6 Care and Wellbeing BSc (Hons) Top-Up Degree (Full-Time)
Course Overview
This final top up year provides students with the opportunity to broaden the scope of study within the field of Health, Care and Wellbeing to include exploration and analysis of both National and Global perspectives. Taught modules will enable critical examination of wider determinants of wellbeing and health, the impact upon social policy making and long term strategic planning of service provision across sectors. The module content is varied and interesting, incorporating innovative teaching, learning and assessment methods designed to enthuse and inspire students.
This course is run in Partnership with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
This programme is suitable for anyone interested in working within the diverse field of Health, Care and Community Wellbeing or wishes to gain an academic qualification that enhances employability options at graduate level.
We aim to reflect the multidisciplinary approach required in this sector and actively seek prospective students from varied employment/academic backgrounds.
To be eligible for entry onto this course, students must have achieved 120 Credits at Level 4 and 120 credits at L5 that are appropriate to the top up programme offered.
The course aims to further develop the qualities and transferable skills necessary for graduate employment that requires the exercise of initiative and personal responsibility, decision-making in complex and unpredictable contexts, and the aptitude for continued learning and personal development necessary for all professionals working within the sector.
Progression can be to professional degree pathways such as Mental Health Nursing, Social work, Occupational Therapy, Teaching or to transfer directly into a broad range of employment opportunities in fields such as Voluntary and Third sector project management, Probationary work, Police force, Youth work.

The programme will include lectures, tutorials, debate and seminars. Assessment will include a range of methods such as oral presentations, written reports, group project and an extended independent study.
