The NPTC Group of Colleges Graduation Celebration is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our graduates.
The NPTC Group of Colleges’ “More Than Just a Graduation” is a significant occasion to celebrate achievement, honour hard work and dedication, and showcase the remarkable success of our higher education students and academic staff. It’s an extraordinary opportunity to create memories and celebrate well-deserved recognition. It is a day filled with joy, reflection, and anticipation, embracing the future with pride and great expectation.
Graduation 2024 will take place in the Princess Royal Theatre, Port Talbot on Tuesday, 12th November 2024.

Graduands will be allocated two guest tickets free of charge. (Graduands do not require a ticket).
Additional guest tickets will be available from 20th October 2024, with a purchase price of £10.
For graduand guests unable to attend, live streaming of the graduation ceremony will be available.
Children are welcome. However, the ceremony last up to 90 minutes, so we recommend you consider not bringing young children.
All children will be seated with the graduands guests and those who need a seat will require a ticket.
All students attending their graduation ceremony (graduands) are required to wear full academic dress, which consists of a gown, hood and mortarboard. The ceremony is a formal occasion, and most graduands choose to dress smartly beneath their academic dress.
Graduands order their academic dress from Ede and Ravenscroft. You will need to provide your height measurement, head circumference and graduation date. Ede and Ravenscroft will hold information on all graduand’s award and the appropriate academic dress they require.
This is a possibility, but please be aware there is no guarantee there will be academic dress available and the cost is higher.
There is no official dress code. However the ceremony is a formal occasion, and most guests choose to dress smartly in accordance with this.
Professional photographs are available (for graduands and their families) but are not compulsory, and you and your guests are welcome to take your own photographs and videos on the day.
Yes. Please notify the graduation team of any additional requirements for you and/or your guests so we can ensure the appropriate services are in place: graduation@nptcgroup.ac.uk
Please provide your Student Number, Full Name, Car Make/Model/Colour, Car Registration, and Details of Additional Requirements, e.g. “2 of my guests require wheelchair access”.
Early entry to the auditorium will be available for graduands and guests if required.

If you have booked professional photographs, please ensure you arrive at least 2 hours before the start of the graduation ceremony. Otherwise, please arrive at least 1 hour before the start of the Graduation Ceremony.

No sorry, we ask that you always look after your own property.
The graduation ceremony will last approximately 90 minutes.
Graduands will be guided by a marshal towards the stage.
You will be required to hand your card (containing your name, course name and allocated seat number) to a marshal on entry to the stage, who will then pass them to the academic staff member for announcement.
Upon hearing your name, you will walk across the stage, doff your mortarboard to the Chief Executive Officer and the Chair of Governors, and then be directed by a marshal back to your seat.
The doors to the auditorium will open 45 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
You will be directed to the auditorium. Here, you will be required to show your card to a marshal (containing your name, course name and allocated seat number), who will then direct you to your seat. It is very important you do not move to another seat.
Please ensure that you have taken all comfort breaks prior to entering the auditorium as it is difficult to leave once seated.

From the East – leave the M4 at J41, and follow the road over the flyover to a large roundabout. Come right around and rejoin the M4. Leave at the first exit and follow the directions below.
From the West – leave the M4 at J41, and at the roundabout take the first left, (you’ll see the back of the theatre on your right.) At the next roundabout take the 4th exit and then turn left into the theatre car park. Overflow spaces are available in the furthest car park 1st exit off the roundabout.
Train Station – Port Talbot Parkway
The train station is approximately a 10-minute walk away.
Exit the station (the Grand Hotel should be on your right) and proceed across the concourse and onto Station Road. Continue walking along Station Road until you reach a canopied footbridge.
Walk across the footbridge to Civic Square. The theatre is on the right.
Buses and Taxis – Aberafan Shopping Centre
The bus station is approximately a 5-minute walk through Aberafan Shopping Centre which opens on to Civic Square. Taxis are also available next to the bus station.
