The HND Business course will suit students who wish to develop the knowledge and understanding of the modern business environment. This is located in the Business Tourism Management (BTM) department. The course is franchised from the University of South Wales. Entry criteria detail a typical offer but the College considers all applications on an individual basis which means that we could make offers based on qualifications, personal profile and experience. Typical offer: 2 A Levels at D Grade or MP/PPP profile from a BTEC Level 3 qualification and two GCSEs at Grade C or above, to include English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).
Mature students (over 21 years) can be accepted with lower/no academic qualifications and are assessed on a case by case basis looking at the individual profile and the work/life experience etc.
The recognised progression route for this course is the BA (Hons) Business - Top-up Degree. Graduates have employment prospects in a wide range of business disciplines, for example, business management, consultancy, accountancy, consumer research, statistical analysis, marketing and retail management.
Modules include: Academic and Professional Development, Entrepreneurship and Business Start-up, Work and Organisational Behaviour, Economics, Law and Regulation, Foundations in Marketing, The Management of Financial Information, Accountancy for Managers, Strategic Business Analysis
The programme will include lectures, seminars, practical and supervised workshop sessions and tutorial. You will usually have to complete portfolios, presentations, group-work, reports and written assignments as you progress, and normally sit exams at the end of (and occasionally in the middle of) each academic year.
