Course Overview
This course is suited to students wishing to develop their skills and prepare to work within the hospitality industry. You will be given the opportunity to work in our professional kitchens and restaurants, learning how to cook and serve food professionally.
This qualification has been designed for delivery in a College environment using the College’s specialist equipment and training facilities. Throughout the programme students are introduced to real work situations through the College’s Blasus & Themes Training Restaurants and can gain experience of the industry whilst being taught by experienced highly skilled staff.
No formal entry requirements (interview).
This course offers progression to our Level 1 Professional Cookery and Food Service, working towards gaining employment within the catering and hospitality industry.
Throughout the course you will experience real situations through working in our training restaurants and professional kitchens. You will begin to learn how to cook and serve food at a professional level.
Whilst working in our kitchens and restaurants, you will build a portfolio of assessments throughout the year. The majority of the course is practically based on some supported assignment work. You will be assessed in the restaurant and kitchen.
You will be required to purchase uniforms and some equipment that you will use throughout your time at college and in the workplace.
