This one year course covers the fundamental skills & knowledge common to all Motor Vehicle practices. The course aims to explore all mechanical and electrical systems, typical to light vehicles. The course is completed by means of 2 on line exams and a series of assignments and practical tasks carried out in our excellent workshop facility. This is designed for students with an interest in working with cars and vehicles, wanting to become a mechanic, to work in a garage or any motor engineering industry.
GCSEs of D/E & above is desirable, but practical experience is also considered. Students must attend GCSE resist classes that will run alongside their full time program when progressing on to a level 2 course.
Students can continue their studies and progress onto full time level 2 automotive engineering program or enter into employment and continue to study full time or day release basis if sponsored in a Modern Apprenticeship with a participating employer.

This course requires continual assessment of College based assignments which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet the needs of the awarding body.
