There are both practical and theoretical classes providing an introduction to many aspects of engineering such as machining, maintenance, welding, gas cutting as well as units in health and safety, 3D printing, engineering drawing, electronics and communicating engineering information with an Additional group tutorial. You will gain hands on experience in an exciting technology driven industry that plays a large part in everyones lives.

Typically you will need 4 GCSEs D and above.
Learners who have not achieved grade C in GCSE Mathematics and English will be expected to attend sessions to support this in addition to their vocational programme.
Students can continue their studies and progress onto full time level 2 engineering programs or enter into employment and continue to study full time or day release basis if sponsored in a Modern Apprenticeship with a participating employer.
EAL Level 1 Diploma in Engineering Technology modules include an introduction to Working safely in an engineering environment, machining engineering materials, joining engineering materials, electronics, maintenance, maths and science, project develoopment and planning, Computer aided design and additive manufacturing 3D printing
This course requires continual assessment of College based assignments which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet the needs of the awarding body.
