Course Overview
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology is a Full-time Further Education course designed for students who are interested in a wide range of media specialisms.
This is designed for students wanting to work in the Creative Arts industry. This is located in the Creative, Visual and Performing Arts (CVP) department.
Practical and computer skills are essential whilst the ability to draw will help in visualising and storyboarding your ideas. You will need good analytical skills, a willingness to experiment, work as a production team, as well as commitment and perseverance.
5 GCSEs A*-C including English. A relevant level 2 qualification. Plus an interview
This qualification will help learners to enter Apprenticeships or higher level courses, e.g. Higher National Diploma and degree courses, and prepare them for employment in Portfolio Careers or the field of media production.
Students will study the following topics: Pre-production Techniques for the creative media, Sector Communication Skills for Creative Media Production, Creative Media Production Management, Project Working to a brief in the Creative Media Industries, Critical Approaches to Media Products, Understanding the Creative Media Sector. Students will explore and develop skills in TV and Film, Moving Image and Audio Production as well as investigate the use of interactive media such as web development and Social Media Campaigns
There will be additional course-related costs.
