Course Overview
The Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical and Production Practice for the Creative Industries is a full-time, further education course designed for students who are not only interested in a wide range of media specialisms, but are also interesting in building a range of professional standard media work.
This is designed for students wanting to work in the Creative Arts industry and will be looking closely at working with clients but also how to establish yourself as a content creator on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
An interest in media content and a solid work ethic are essential. You will need good analytical skills, a willingness to experiment, work as a production team, as well as commitment and perseverance.
If you are under 21, you must have one of the following: 5 GCSE passes at grade A*- C, (or equivalent) plus an Extended Diploma (Creative Media related) or two AS subjects OR one full A Level and be over 17. All students need to submit a portfolio of practical work at interview. We welcome applications from mature students.

Students completing the UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical & Production Practice for the Creative Industries will have the skills and understanding needed to progress to:
Employment:
Students completing this may also progress directly into employment in the production arts industry, specifically into roles such as assistant stage manager, senior technician, project management, event management, production management, automation and sales and hire account handlers.
Higher Education:
The qualification will support students to develop a portfolio of work, enabling them to progress to Higher Education courses or conservatoires.
The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical & Production Practice for the Creative Industries is made up of three mandatory units:
> Unit 1: Establishing principles of technical and production practice
> Unit 2: Applied professional practice
> Unit 3: Professional development project
To be awarded the UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical & Production Practice for the Creative Industries, students must achieve a minimum grade of a Pass.
Units 1 and 2 is internally assessed and internally verified against the learning outcomes for those units.
Unit 3 is internally assessed, internally verified and externally moderated against the learning outcomes for that unit.
