The VTCT VRQ Level 3 In Beauty Therapy Treatments is a Full-time Further Education course designed for students who have aspirations to work as a beauty therapist.
This is located in the Hairdressing and Applied Therapies (HAT) department.
Students are encouraged to enter Inspiring Skills Wales and World Skills competitions that further challenge and improve specialised skills
Completion of NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy or an equivalent qualification
Students will be able to specialise in specific treatment types, or progress to Level 4 courses.
This qualification may lead directly into employment as a senior beauty therapist in a beauty salon or spa or to self-employment as a mobile beauty therapist.
This programme offers students the opportunity to progress in a range of beauty therapy-related areas.
The contents have been developed in line with industry requirements, especially in electrical treatments to improve the appearance of skin and body.
Assessment methods include observation of practical work, written assignments, oral questioning and written end of unit tests. Learners will be required to bring clients to commercial classes for assessments.
Additionally, they will have homework to complete which includes compiling a portfolio of evidence, completing workbooks and practising skills.
Learners will be required to purchase a uniform and kit.
