College Within The Community Hub – The CWTCH
Part of Brecon Beacons College
Located on the site of the former Tourist Information Centre, ‘The CWTCH’ is at the heart of Brecon’s community, providing multiple learning opportunities for local residents, become a drop-in centre, as well as a space to be utilised by community groups and clubs.
The College’s Board of Governors decided that the naming of the building should be by staff based at Brecon Beacons College as the aim of the new building is to create a vision for further education in Brecon and for it to be part of the community with open access for all.
Helen Griffiths, lecturer for Computing and IT chose the name the building. CWTCH (College within the Community Hub) was chosen as it aligns perfectly with the College’s intended use of the building; “a welcoming place at the heart of the community that would bring people in”.
