GCSEs
GCSE Mathematics
The GCSE Mathematics course provides an opportunity for students wishing to improve their confidence and skills in numeracy. Many careers, such as teaching, engineering and many more, require GCSE Mathematics at a grade C or above.
GCSE English Language
The English Language GCSE provides students the opportunity to improve their literacy and writing skills. The course enables students to have a confident command of the English language by deploying figurative language, text analysis, and accurate grammatical writing skills. Following a career path in Law, teaching and many more, a C grade or above in GCSE English is required.
GCSE Biology
The GCSE Biology course provides an opportunity for learners wishing to improve their science skills. The Biology specification encourages learners to develop a positive attitude towards science and to recognise its importance in their own lives and to society. Studying Biology will involve practical assessment elements during the course which will enhance learning. Careers in teaching, nursing and many more would need a grade C or above in GCSE Biology.
Extra Support for English and Maths
NPTC Group of Colleges is extremely excited to announce that we have invested in GCSEPod, the award-winning digital content and revision provider.
Students studying on any of the GCSE English and Maths and Skills Forward programmes will have access to GCSEPod’s library of ‘Pods’, 3-5 minute videos to deliver knowledge in short bursts. This new engaging and fun resource will help all students build confidence, identify gaps and automatically send resources to each student to help strengthen their knowledge.
To accompany this, GCSEPod is delighted to offer parent webinars to help look at ways to fully support parents and guardians with engaging their child to learn and develop their English and Maths skills with ease. Throughout the last academic year, they had great success engaging and supporting parents through their live sessions. Their resident parent host, Joanne Winters will once again guide parents on how to encourage their child to learn through GCSEPod with tips and tricks on keeping the momentum going in the home.
